We had our annual staff Christmas party last night, so things are a little quiet today around here today. Much merriment was had by all and fun was had with friends old and new! The Shrine to El Guincho 11 Dec 2008

El Guincho, whose debut album Alegranza came out earlier this year, recently finished a tour of the US wowing audiences from LA to NYC and points between.   The show in NYC was particularly excellent - we know because we were there!  But we also know because the kitchen and bar staff at Le Poisson Rouge (where he played) were so entranced by him that they built a shrine in the kitchen of the venue!

Department of Eagles to play East Coast Dates January 2009 02 Dec 2008

Department of Eagles will be playing some select shows on the East Coast in January 2009!  They will kick things off on January 15th in Chicago with a performance at The Tomorrow Never Knows Festival 2009 at Schubas Tavern.  Their first public appearance was performing on Late Night With Conan O'Brien, before playing two dates in New York surrounding the October 2008 release of In Ear Park (first at The Bell House and then Town Hall for the 826NYC Revenge of the Bookeaters Benefit alongside Paul Simon).

Tickets for these dates go on sale Wednesday at 12:00pm eastern time.
